These cultured opals are recognized by GIA (Gemological institute of America) as true cultured or lab created opals, synthetic opals, which is much different than simulated opals. These cultured opals have all the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as natural opals. Just like natural opals, cultured, monarch, or monet opals are made up of nano particles of silica dioxide that are almost as small as an atom.

This stone has beautiful coloring in all directions.
